INITIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Your device must be connected to either the UofU Network or VPN into the UofU Network to ensure safety when working with protected data. Use Global Protect VPN to connect to the UofU Network from off-campus locations. There are a few steps for the initial setup, however once initial configuration is complete you will simply click ‘connect’ to access the VPN.

  1. Download Global Protect VPN to your device: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/globalprotect/id1400555706 , https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/compatibility-matrix/globalprotect/where-can-i-install-the-globalprotect-app

  2. Start client and input portal address ‘vpn.utah.edu’ > click ‘save

    1. If needed, you may access the portal address via Global Protect settings.

      1. Open Global Protect > click 3-lined action bar > click ‘settings’ > click small (+) plus icon at the bottom of the pop-up window to add a & save VPN address vpn.utah.edu
