Trouble logging in?

Your REDCap password is synced to your University wide password. You are not able to reset your REDCap password. If you try to reset your REDCap password you will NOT receive an email, given the above.

  • If your University wide password is not working, you can reset it using these instructions

  • Passwords are created through CIS. Please go to https://cis.utah.edu and use the UNID as the username with a lowercase u replacing the first zero.

    • The initial password will be the birthday in the format MMDDYY with no dashes, slashes, or spaces. If successful a password expired screen will appear. Click the link and create a permanent password. The username will not change.

    • Once you have tried logging in 3 times and failed, the server will not let you in for at least half an hour.

    • If you have any issues logging in, please contact the Campus Help Desk at 801-581-4000 ext. They can reset the password to your DOB.

For anyone that has a active University of Utah ID, follow the below steps to login:

  1. Go to: https://redcap.ccts.utah.edu

  2. Sign in with your U of U ID or U of U Affiliate ID (unid) and your campus password.

  3. Fill out and submit the form that comes up, use your primary email address associated with the U of U.

    1. Affiliate ID users use your email address associated with your Affiliate ID.

  4. You will then be sent an email to confirm your REDCap account.

    1. You MUST verify your account via email before you can login to REDCap

  5. The new user can now either create their own project or be added as a user to an existing project.

    • To be added to an existing REDCap project, you’ll need to contact the project manager to give you access to it. They will need to follow the direction on: Add New User

  • If an affiliate account is needed, the University of Utah

  • Once an affiliate ID has reached the expiration date the person no longer has access to REDCap and a new request must be submitted.

  • If the below process is followed, the Affiliates requestor will be notified to renew the Affiliates account via email 1 month prior to account expiration. At this time, the requestor may request to renew their account, or request to deactivate as applicable.

    • If the user does not action, the affiliates account will expire on the noted date.

    Renewal notices will be sent to the Affiliates requestor on file roughly 30 days before the set expiration date. At this time, the requestor may choose to renew or deactivate and the request is then sent to HR for review. Upon approval, an email notice will be sent to both affiliate and requestor.

    • Once an Affiliate reaches their accounts expiration date, the Affiliate user no longer has access to REDCap
