To copy & upload an existing instrument

Go to “Online Designer” on In the project that which hosts the instrument you would like wish to copy is located on, navigate to “Online Designer” In the “Data collection Instruments” box, click on “Choose Action”, select “Download instrument ZIP” Image Removed- Image Added
The ZIP file will then downloaded and saved on your computer (generally saved in Downloads) NOTE: You may need to compress the file on your desktop prior to uploading
Next, go to the “Online Designer” on within the project you would like wish to upload the form ontoinstrument TO Click on “Upload” at the top of the “Data Collection Instruments” page (note: project needs to be in development mode or draft mode to do this) Image Removed- Image Added
Click “Browse” and find and open the ZIP file you just saved. After it's been selected, click on "Upload instrument ZIP" in the box on REDCap Image Modified

Select the project the existing form is in, click on “Project Setup”, and scroll to the bottom and Click on “Data Dictionary”

In the project which hosts the instrument you wish to copy, navigate to “Project Setup” Click “Data Dictionary” Click "Download the current Data Dictionary" Image Modified Now copy Copy all the rows that contain the fields from the form you want to add (to your other project). Next, Download the data dictionary from the project that you want wish to add this form to. Scroll to the bottom and click on the first empty box (Outlined in black box in the picture below). Now paste the copied fields here. Image Modified
Save the excel data dictionary file that you added the new fields to. Now go back to REDCap and select the project you want to add the copied form to Go to "Project Setup" and click on "upload data dictionary" (like we did on step 1) Scroll to the bottom, click browse, and select the file you saved your new data dictionary in. (to do this, your project needs to be in draft mode) Click "Upload File," and approve the upload. The new form will now be added to your project.

Go to "Project Home" of within the project you would like wish to copy and click on the Click "Other Functionality" tab at top- Image Modified
Here, click Click "Copy this project" Image ModifiedNext a page will show up about making a copy (looks similar box shown in image below). Change the Project Title and any other necessary changes. Image ModifiedNext click "Request Copy". The REDCap Support team will then review and contact you to proceed.
