Important Considerations
A copy of your approved IRB document that notes SMS/ text message communications is required to facilitate opt-in requirements of this service.
Please plan accordingly if you wish to use this service as your approved IRB document will be required in the request process!
The CTSI will handle the setup up your project account with Mosio, however it is the study team's responsibility to configure and manage their project dashboard and communications with research participants to meet their project needs.
Cost of Services
An annual subscription is required to use this service, with other fees as applicable.
If your project surpasses the allocated 3,000 outbound message segments per year, you will be charged a $50 ‘High Message Utilization Fee’ and be granted an additional 3,000 message segments. This fee will be applied as many times as necessary.
Annual subscription model ($314) includes:
Interactive SMS project dashboard & features (single phone number)
2 user logins
3,000 outbound message segments per year
If you wish to have additional user logins you may purchase as needed
$3 / Month (per login)
Message Segments: There are 160 characters allowed in a text message for English. Languages using emojis, accents, or special characters only allow 70 characters per text. Mosio, will concatenate the texts, appearing on the phone as one long message, but sending over multiple segments.
If you wish to use Mosio within your REDCap project to deliver REDCap Survey links and alerts, this can be setup with an additional $9 monthly fee.
1-way SMS via REDCap
If you want to use just SMS 1-way delivery in your REDCap project you may utilize Twilio Services
2-way Project Dashboard & Configurable Features:
Mosio provides an interactive texting platform allowing research teams to manage and engage with participants. The platform grants the study team access to their project dashboard to facilitate 2-way text messaging with research participants whether that be a simple conversation, appointment reminders, etc.
