We ask that test data be entered into each of your data forms while in development. Often this is helpful in exposing errors before moving a project to "production" status. Once the project has been moved to production, you will not be able to easily edit the project fields. However, you will be able to move the project to draft mode and make modifications, which will then need to be approved by a REDCap administrator before taking effect. Some data fields may be impossible to change once in production mode.
Steps how to test it:
1. To enter data, select the project you would like to do it on. Next, select "Add / Edit Records" (circled in red below) .
2. Next, the box below will show up, This is used to enter a new participant or select an existing one. After a participant is selected, the form or survey appears.
3. Now, enter data here and save it to verify your project is working correctly. Once the project is moved to production, the fake data will automatically be erased, unless it's told differently.
Entering test data may also display things you are dissatisfied with in the project. It is very simple to make any changes and edit your project in development, however, when project is in production it is very difficult to make changes.
