III. PURPOSE & SCOPE
The purpose of this document is to serve as a checklist for study teams prior to requesting a new printer setup as it relates to OpenSpecimen.

VI. PROCEDURE
This step-by-step checklist serves the tasks necessary to be accomplished prior to requesting for a new printer setup.
- Verify and make note of the printer make, model, and DPI
- Ensure your printer has all the necessary parts such as the ribbon, label roll etc.
- Ensure the printer is connected to your router (or network switch) via an Ethernet cable
- Make note of your printer’s IP address (if you are unable to find the IP address, you might need to communicate with your IT department)
- Once ethernet connection is successfully established, perform a basic network connectivity test to ensure the printer is available on the said IP address (please contact your IT department if you are unable to verify the printer’s availability on the said IP address)
- Run a test print to make sure the printer is able to process print commands (if the printer is not responding or behaving erratically, you will need to coordinate with your IT department to troubleshoot the issue)
