Important Considerations

  • A copy of your approved IRB document that notes SMS/ text message communications is required to facilitate opt-in requirements of this service.

    • Please plan accordingly if you wish to use this service as your approved IRB document will be required in the request process!

  • The CTSI will handle the setup up your project account with Mosio, however it is the study team's responsibility to configure and manage their project dashboard /communications with research participants to meet their project needs.

Cost of Services

An annual subscription is required to use either of the below services, with other fees as applicable.

If your project surpasses the allocated 3,000 messages per year, you will be charged a $50 ‘High Message Utilization Fee’ and be granted an additional 3,000 message segments

2-way SMS

Provides access to interactive SMS project dashboard & features

  • Single phone number

  • Annual subscription model ($314) includes:

    • 2 user logins

    • 3,000 message segments per year

  • If you wish to have additional user logins you may purchase as needed

    • $3 / Month (per login)

(unreleased) 1-way SMS via REDCap

Provides one-way SMS delivery of a REDCap projects surveys and alerts

  • Single phone number

  • 3,000 message segments per year

  • Annual subscription model ($314)

What if I want to use both services? Additional fees apply.

Separate numbers must be used for each service.

  • Annual subscription model of $314 plus $9 monthly fee for REDCap setup

    • Single phone number for 2-way interaction

    • Single phone number for REDCap 1-way setup

      • 3,000 message segments total

    • $50 fee applied as needed for an additional 3k message segments

Mosio provides an interactive texting platform allowing research teams to manage and engage with participants. The platform grants the study team access to their project dashboard to facilitate 2-way text messaging with research participants whether that be a simple conversation, appointment reminders, etc.
