Survey Access Code and Short Code for surveys

  • When email is not an option, Survey Access Codes and Short Code can be used to get a respondent started quickly on a survey.

  • There will be a Survey Access Code for every survey link in a project that utilizes surveys.

  • To get a quick, temporary access code, there is an option to generate a Short Code to make it even faster to start a survey. The Short Code will expire after one use or after one hour has passed.

  • This can be used for both the Public Survey and for the Participant Contact List surveys.



QR Code for Surveys

If the respondent is physically nearby and has a QR code scanner app on their device, they can quickly scan the QR code for any survey link, which will immediately open the survey webpage on their device.

        



To get to this code for a survey listed on the Participant Contact List, do the following:

  1. Go to "Manage Survey Participants" and click on the "Participant List" tab

  2. At the top of the "Participant List" box, select the survey you would like to get the code from (circled in red in image below)

     

  3. A list of participants for that survey will then appear.  To pull up a QR code for them, click on the "Survey Access Code and QR Code" located to the right of the participant's Email (circled in red in image below)

     

  4. Then the box that contains the Survey Access Code and the QR Code will pop up

To get to this code for a Public Survey, follow the instruction below:

(note: Public Survey only works for first instrument on project)

  1. Go to Manage Survey Participants and click on the "Public Survey Link" tab

  2. Click on "Survey Access Code or QR Code", located below the "Public Survey URL" (circled in red in image below)

     

  3. Then the box that contains the Survey Access Code and the QR Code will pop up

You can also access the QR code by going to an existing record:

  1. Go to an existing record and open a survey instrument.

  2. Click on "Survey options" and select "Survey Access Code and QR Code", located directly above the survey (circled in red below).

     

  3. The Survey Access Code / QR Code box will then pop up
