Research Data Network Videos
Initial Considerations
The University of Utah Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Biomedical Informatics Core (BMIC) offers you the opportunity to learn about research data networks by watching a series of five brief videos which will provide an overview of each platform, its uses, and purposes.
The Process
The set of five brief videos includes a five-minute video that provides an overview of research data networks. This video is an excellent introduction to the topic, explaining what research data networks are, and why they are important. This video also introduces the four Research Data Networks available to the University of Utah researchers.
In addition to the Research Data Network Overview video, the set includes four individual network videos, each focusing on a specific research data network. Each video is three-to-four minutes and provides an introductory-level analysis of the specific network, how it functions, and its potential applications. The four networks covered are:
TriNetX
The National Patient-Centered Research Network (PCORnet®)
The National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C)
Accrual to Clinical Trial (The ACT Network)
In each of these videos, you will learn what the resource is, why it matters to researchers, the data types available within each of them, the cost, where to go for more information, and the support services available through the University of Utah and directly from the resource.
These five videos are ideal for researchers seeking a better understanding of the Research Data Networks that are available and what each is best suited for.
Our videos are designed to be accessible and engaging; you can watch them at your own pace and refer to them as needed for reference.
